Willingway Hospital

Willingway Hospital, a 40-bed hospital located in Statesboro, Georgia, specializes in the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. The program began in 1964 in the home of Dr. John and Dot Mooney. In 1971 construction was completed for a freestanding, specialty hospital designed for addiction treatment. The program philosophy is based on four concepts: the total cause of alcoholism and drug addiction is unknown, alcoholism is at least in part a chemical illness, there is a relationship between alcoholism and addiction to other drugs, and alcoholism is an illness of the total person.

Willingway provides a full continuum of care including: medically supervised detoxification, residential inpatient program, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and extended treatment for both men and women. In addition, an intensive family program is integrated into the last five days of treatment. Addiction is viewed as an incurable, progressive disease and that integration into a 12-step recovery program after treatment is crucial to long term recovery. Phone calls and visitors are restricted to allow total concentration on the program. Males and females 13 years old and older can be accepted into the program. Although Willingway does not accept medicare or medicaid, Willingway does accept most insurance and private payments. Financial arrangements are individualized depending on projected reimbursement and length of stay. For admission to the program or additional information, you may call our toll free line at 1-800-242-9455 or write us at Willingway Hospital, 311 Jones Mill Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458.
